Purple Mobile Phones – The 3 Best Bright Coloured Mobiles
May 20, 2009 by · Leave a Comment
Mobile phone manufacturers will often of course design there mobile phone in a colour and design that will appeal to certain niches within the market place. This does not mean they will totally re-deign the phone, but they will make minor surfaces change to the phone. A popular change is releasing the particular phone in a series of colours to appeal to certain markets. For example all black will appeal to the male market and brighter colours such as pink will appeal to the female and teenage markets. A colour that has proved to be popular recently is purple. The colour purple has featured heavily on the catwalk run ways and in the latest high street fashions, make up colour charts, shoes, hand bags and even hair. Purple is a vibrant and funky colour and helps the mobile phone to stand out from the crowd. Here we will look at 3 of the best looking mobile phone which are available in purple. These are the LG KU990 Viewty, the BlackBerry Pearl 8120 Indigo and the Nokia 6600 Fold.
The LG KU990 Viewty Purple is exclusive to Orange. It’s a sophisticated and usable touchscreen phone with a 5 megapixel camera and HSDPA. It has a 3 inch touchscreen with an easy to use interface, simply touch the screen with your finger to select the option you want. The new 5 megapixel camera on the LG Viewty has a xenon flash, auto focus and ISO sensitivity adjustment. It can record high quality video at 30 frames per second. There is also a secondary VGA video call camera. The Viewty has a built-in FM radio, an MP3 player and a video player. The LG Viewty has a web browser and a document viewer, supporting Word, Excel, Powerpoint and PDF files. However, with no WiFi and with it’s advanced media features the Viewty is more an entertainment cameraphone than it is a business device.
The BlackBerry Pearl 8120 Indigo is an easy-to-use, good-looking device that gives you access to your emails and the web while you’re on the move. With a BlackBerry, emails appear on your screen as soon as they are sent, just as you’d receive a text message. Your mobile phone becomes a copy of your email inbox. It’s easy to set up so that it used your existing email address. You can write emails using the QWERTY keyboard and then slip your BlackBerry back into your bag or your pocket. The Pearl 8120 weighs just 91g, it has all the usual BlackBerry functionality plus Wi-fi. A pearl-like trackball makes it simple to select the phone’s features and to browse the web. It also has a very good 2 megapixel camera with flash, a web browser, voice control, stereo Bluetooth and a handy 3.5mm stereo audio jack socket for listening to your music collection.
The Purple Nokia 6600 Fold
is a svelte and compact clamshell phone. It has 2 Megapixel camera with dual LED flash. There’s also a second camera for updating your friends on the newest gossip over video calls. Nokia maps is also preloaded, great for finding your way around. I suppose really the Nokia 6600 Fold is not really a flip phone as it doesn’t flip open, it glides open. It uses an electromagnetic mechanism. It’s a very touchy-feely phone, you can control features with simple gestures such as a gentle double tap will snooze the early morning alarm. The phone status is shown by the exterior heart beat light which pulsates silently with information. The Nokia 6600 Fold feels alive with its sensuous design and chic features.
These are pretty much the best mobile phone that are available in purple, because there is not a great choice available in this particular colour. However, i would imagine this would soon change if the colour continues to be popular.
Compare Google Mobile Phones – The HTC G1 Vs HTC Magic G2
May 20, 2009 by · Leave a Comment
You may be aware that over the last year or so Google have teamed up with HTC too develop two mobile phone based upon the Android operating system. The first phone was called the Google G1 and was released exclusively on the T-Mobile network. While the second phone called the HTC Magic, but often referred to as the G2 has just been released exclusively to the Vodafone network. Google have seen a opportunity in the market to extend there dominance of the online market place by pushing there Android system. They see that there is a increase in the number of people who browse the internet on their mobile phone and they now want a bigger say in how people browse. Here we take a look at the two Google developed mobile phone in the wake of the HTC Magic’s release.
Google G1
The HTC G1 (or Google G1 Phone) available only on the T-Mobile Network brings you everything you love about the Internet in a mobile phone. With a 3.2 inch touch screen and trackball, it’s made for browsing the web. Gmail, YouTube, Google Talk, Google Calendar and much more are just a touch away. With GPS you can use Google Maps to shows detailed street, traffic and satellite views. It has a slide out QWERTY keyboard. One problem with this is that the build quality does not seem the greatest and you can actually annoyingly hear the sliding movement.
The Google G1 comes with a 3.2 megapixel camera with autofocus and video record. While this is not the greatest, the whole point of the Google mobile phone was that it was designed with the internet in mind and not photography. The Google G1 is the first phone to run on the Android platform, which is an open source operating system. This means there are plenty of third party applications to download and install on the phone. Other features include HSDPA, Wi-Fi and GPS.
Compare T-Mobile G1 Deals
HTC Magic
Exclusive to Vodafone, the HTC Magic is the second mobile to run on the Android OS. The first was the T-Mobile G1. One of the most notable differences between the Magic and the G1 is the lack of a QWERTY keyboard. This makes the Magic slimmer, lighter and more pocket-friendly. The 3.2 inch touch screen interface is also an improvement over the G1, with plenty of little tweaks in the latest Cupcake incarnation of the Android OS. The Magic has an accelerometer for autorotation and the screen has the option of handwriting recognition or the onscreen QWERTY keyboard.
As we get into what the HTC Magic can do, it becomes very impressive. The Android OS has Gmail, Google maps including Street View and YouTube all just a touch away. The HTC Magic is a practical business phone. It’s equipped with all the standard document viewers and with Wi-Fi, Bluetooth and HSPDA (with download speeds of up to 7.2 Mbps) this is a very useful device to have outside the office.
Compare HTC Magic Deals
The HTC Magic is a step up from the G1 and the looks of the new HTC Magic does look much better than the G1, which were fairly uninspiring. A few people that purchased the G1 might be a little annoyed that the HTC magic was released not long after the G1 and they may feel that the G1 was used as something of a test run/prototype. But the G1 is still a very good phone and the developments in the G2 are not that significant, you may also find that you will be able to get better deals on the G1, now that the HTC Magic has been released.

Motorola RAZR2 Expresso Contracts, Deals & Offers
May 15, 2009 by · Leave a Comment
The Motorola RAZR2 Expresso is the successor to the incredibly popular Motorola RAZR V3. Unlike the V3i and V3x, which were lukewarm updates, the RAZR2 is a true next-generation RAZR phone with looks and style to match its impressive list of features. Available in two forms, the V8 is a quad band GSM phone and the V9 also adds 3G and HSDPA. Apart from the addition of 3G and a microSD slot on the RAZR2 V9, they are more or less identical.
The RAZR2 is instantly recognisable as a MOTORAZR phone, it has the usual metallic finish with hardened glass to protect the new 2 inch exterior display. Flick it open and on the inside is a smart new keypad with an even larger, 2.2 inch display with a 240×320 pixel resolution. The camera on the RAZR2 is a 2 megapixel job, which unfortunately doesn’t have autofocus. Motorola appear to be pitching the RAZR2 as more of a music phone, it has stereo Bluetooth, a new media player with MPEG4 video playback and dedicated touch-sensitive music keys beneath the front display. The V8 comes with 420MB of internal memory while the V9 has only 45MB but has the addition of a microSD memory card slot.
