Sony Ericsson C510 Contract Deals

March 19, 2009 by · Leave a Comment

Sony Ericsson C510 - Cheapest Mobile Phone Contract Deals & OffersThe Sony Ericsson C510 is a very competitively priced handset, with an emphasis on fun over more serious photography. The mobile is a traditional Sony Ericsson candybar design, available in Radiation Silver and Future Black, and the faceplate will offer no design surprises to anyone familiar with the company’s past work. It’s a slim one though, at 12.5mm, plus the 92 gram weight makes this a very pocket-friendly camera phone. Flip the phone over and things get more interesting, as the camera lens is hidden behind a brushed metallic cover which slides to one side. Not only is this very practical, but it gives the C510 a really smooth, modern look.

As the C510 wears a CyberShot badge, it has all the toys to make the camera something really special, despite the fact it won’t break the bank to purchase. The 3.2 megapixel camera lens may not sound impressive these days, but the truth is, it takes brilliant pictures at a resolution of 2048×1536 and easily holds its own against the Nokia 5800 and the Samsung U600, each of which feature a similar camera. The C510 edges ahead with features such as face and smile recognition, Photo Fix – where you can alter the brightness, contrast and light balance without transferring your snaps to a PC – plus the usual autofocus and LED flash for the best possible pictures.

The C510 will run the latest version of Sony Ericsson’s feature phone software, so you’ll benefit from a built-in YouTube client for watching video on the move, plus handy features not usually found on a mid-range phone such as threaded SMS conversations. With the 3G HSDPA connection web browsing will be quick and the Access NetFront browser is a great online companion. There’s an FM RDS radio and a music player, plus the phone supports cell-based location ID which provides a geo-tagging experience without GPS.

The Sony Ericsson C510 is a delightfully simple mobile phone, it does everything one could want from a modern handset – 3G/HSDPA, music and media, a great camera, high call quality – all wrapped up in a stylish, cleanly designed casing. Best of all is the reasonable price; the C510 won’t be a phone which will have to be admired from afar thanks to a prohibitively expensive price tag! While we appreciate the phone won’t be winning many innovation awards, it does fit the phrase ‘if it’s not broken, don’t fix it’ perfectly, as the tried and tested Sony Ericsson CyberShot formula just keeps getting better!

The HTC Magic or Google G2 mobile phone features a crystal clear 3.2 inch TFT touchscreen display. The Magic even has a built in accelerometer which automatically rotates the screen to match how the phone is held plus handwriting recognition for quick and easy texts and emails.

The Google G2 features 3G which stands for third generation, and the system is the third generation in the evolution of mobile networks, after analogue and GSM. 3G offers high speed data transfers and the ability to make video calls between compatible mobile phones. HSDPA offers a similar benefit to a 3G network that GPRS offered to the GSM networks. It offers a higher speed data transfer with a compatible handset. HSDPA is often referred to as Mobile Broadband.

The HTC Magic has an email client, which will allow you to receive email from your own personal email account, and send pictures, videos or text emails to any email account anywhere in the world. Email access on the phone is simple to set up and a cost effective way of keeping in touch.

LG Arena KM900 Mobile Phone

March 16, 2009 by · Leave a Comment

LG Arena Mobile Phone ContractsLG Arena is set to be LG’s flagship mobile phone for 2009. Leaving aside the screen for a moment, the reason we should be so excited about the LG Arena Mobile Phone is its use of the brand new user interface LG have developed named S-Class, seen here for the first time. This is a touch interface and in a similar way to HTC, uses a 3D graphical ‘cube’ to access all the phone’s features but doesn’t throw you into the depths of Windows Mobile once you select an icon! Instead you are presented with a vertically scrolling rola-dex style menu which you ‘rotate’ with your finger if you pick multimedia, a home screen-style page and a more familiar 3×3 grid of icons elsewhere. A main screen exists which can be used instead of the cube and provides total phone access including less often used features. The large screen has plenty of space for icons and can even be used in landscape mode for even more. Best of all, the cube’s content will be customisable and everything looks fast, responsive and packed with great little animated touches – the gallery looks amazing for instance! LG say that S-Class is ‘unlike anything seen on a mobile phone before’ and at this stage, it looks like they’re right!

Of course, the other big selling point of the Arena is the screen. It’s a 3″ item with a fantastic 800×480 resolution and comes complete with multi-touch too! The WVGA screen lends itself very well to playing video and the Arena supports the DivX codec out of the box and Dolby Mobile sound technology, making the KM900 a real multimedia powerhouse. The metallic chassis which conceals all this hardware is attractive without breaking new ground, but we do love the 105 gram weight, an area which often gets out of hand in this market segment.

The Arena won’t be left wanting in the connectivity stakes either, as it will be a 3G mobile phone with support for HSDPA, plus there will be Wi-Fi for the ultimate speed. GPS will be built-in and Google Maps looks likely to come pre-installed too. Found on the rear panel of the Arena is the lens for the 5 megapixel camera which in addition to stills will also shoot video, while around the front above the display hides a video call lens. The LG KM900 even has an FM transmitter to broadcast your music to any nearby radio.

Summary of the LG KM900 Arena

After you see or try S-Class, you’ll be instantly converted to LG’s new UI – it truly is one of the most exciting new systems we’ve seen since Android and is sure to make the Arena a best seller. The display, which could equally be the phone’s headline feature, is superb and you’ll have everything else one could need from a mobile at your fingertips. Expect to get admiring glances and some ohh’s and ahh’s when you start using this beauty, as the LG Arena is set for stardom!

The New LG Arena KM900 Mobile Phone is available to Pre-Order for March 30th From Dial A Phone from £22.08
